Happy 4th of July

For the 4th of July we followed tradition this year and went to Young Harris to be with Jason's family. It would not be a holiday if we were not at the Urgent Care. Yes, on the drive up, McKenzie was just not being herself. She felt very warm, so I took her temperature it was 103.3. We went to the Urgent Care as soon as we arrived. It turns out it was just a virus, and it only lasted 24 hours and then it was gone. However, poor MG was wiped out. We were able to take a boat out on the lake though. McKenzie loved it when the boat was moving and hated it when we stopped to swim. I guess she thought we were going to get hurt or something and just freaked out. We got have a special meatball lunch at Jason's Grandma's house. It is always fun to see them! We saw fireworks and MG LOVED them! When they were over, she wanted to see more! Happy 4th of July to everyone and thank you soldiers for fighting so hard for our freedom!

Chicago

Last week Jason and I spent four days in Chicago for Circle, an annual trip for his company. It was a great trip. Chicago is such a nice city and so very clean! There is so much to do there. We got to go to a Cubs game and sit on a rooftop to watch it. So, we were not in Wrigley Field but we were on a rooftop across the street! It was a very cool experience. We also visited Navy Pier and took a Gangster Tour. The tour was about all the "old" (meaning in the 1920's and 30's) gangs of Chicago. It was really interesting and very fun until our charter bus got in an accident. That brought our tour to a halt and as we waited for another bus to come and get us, we missed the last 1.5 hours of the tour. Oh well, everyone was okay! We got to eat wonderful, famous popcorn! Oh it was so good! It was a really fun time!

McKenzie stayed at Nana's house this trip. Tate was also there! Brian and Amber were at the beach with their Youth. So, I am not sure who had more fun, the kids or Nana! McKenzie has asked for Tate everyday since she left him. It is really sweet! They are so cute together and really do love each other so much. It is so fun to have these sweet little ones so close in age!

Happy Birthday Uncle Jeffrey

Yesterday, was Uncle Jeffrey's 25th birthday! Since he is still living in Africa, McKenzie wanted to sing to him! However, the video will not upload. I am so bummed. It is so cute! I am so sorry Jeff and I will keep trying to get it uploaded! Happy Birthday anyways from all of us! We love and can't wait to see you in August!

Strep Throat

Yesterday I took McKenzie to the doctor because she had a a fever. She woke up with it on Monday morning but it was just barely a fever then. By Monday night it was almost 102. To make a long story short, she has her very first strep throat. Poor McKenzie Grace! However, today she is feeling much better! When she work up this morning she told me she was not sick anymore! Too cute!

Fun, Fun, Fun

We had so much tonight! For Christmas McKenzie got an art box. Inside her box there was finger paints. She has been asking since Christmas to use them. I kept telling her that it is something that has to be done outside. So tonight, she remember her finger paints. Since the weather is nice and warm now, out we went to finger paint! I had forgotten how much fun finger painting is! I think it was just as much fun for me as it was for her. We started off kind of neat and by the 7th picture paint was ever where! Jason then turned on the hose for us to wash off in. MG got to play with the hose, which she thought was a blast! Then, somehow, Jason ended up in the pool with his clothes on and so he was convinced I too needed to get into the pool. So, after water was dumped on my head, I too go into the pool! It was so fun! McKenzie thought it was great that Mommy and Daddy were both in her pool! Oh to play like a kid, it is so good for the soul!

I have to go Potty

Wednesday night we went out to dinner. As you all know MG is potty training and doing such a great job. She only has accidents when she is playing, playing, playing and forgets to go. I try to remember to ask her ever so often but I do not always remember either. Pull ups are a lifesaver! So on Wednesday night we were driving home from dinner and MG says she need to go potty. I told her we were about to stop for an errand and asked her if she could hold it. She said she could. It was about 10 minutes from the time she told me until we were in the bathroom and she held it! I was so proud of her! She is really starting to get it!

Chairman's Cabinet and Crest 2010

Jason and I just got back from 8 awesome days in the British Columbia of Canada! It was his work trip for the summer. We left on June 1 and returned late on the 8th. McKenzie went to Grandma's house while we were gone. She had a blast! It was a great break for all of us.

Jason and I started out in Victoria. We stayed there two nights at The Empress! It was gorgeous! We got to go whale watching and had two fabulous dinners! After lunch on the third day at the famous Butchart Gardens we took seaplanes to Whistler where we met up with the rest of the group. We went two days early because Jason made the extra trip called Chairman's Cabinet.

Upon landing on the water in the seaplane, which was an absolutely amazing flight, over the mountain tops and over the waters, literally like in a movie...we got to our hotel to begin Crest 2010. We stayed at the Four Seasons in Whistler! It was so beautiful! Whistler is very mountainous and there was still snow on the tops of them. While we were there we took a Hummer ride to see the ancient Cedar Trees, we went Dog Sledding, had an amazing dinner on a golf course, Jason went ziplining and rode on the Gondola and did Peek to Peek. We also were in walking distance of the Whistler Village and did a good bit of shopping and had wonderful food there as well. One morning I was getting ready and looked out the window and there was huge bear! It was just so close and eating some grasses. Very cool!

We had to leave for the airport very early. We flew from Vancouver to Seattle and then from Seattle to Atlanta. When we arrived in Seattle we had to exchange our tickets for Delta tickets and we got upgraded to first class! Neither Jason nor I have ever flown first class! It was super fun and the leg room was amazing! We had a great trip! However, as always, it was great to get back home. Especially when a 2 year old is waiting! McKenzie did a great job away! We were so proud of her!
