Cousins and Cousins and Cousins... Oh My

Over the weekend we had some very special visitors! My cousins Laura and Alison came down from NY with their mom, Diane to visit! Laura brought her two children, Hanna and Rudy! Auntie Amber, Uncle B, and cousin Tater came too...along with Nana and Papa T! It was a very special time because all the little cousins were meeting for the first time and we were all meeting Rudy for the first time. We do not get to see these family members much because of the distance between us. It was so much fun to have 4 kiddos under our roof. The days passed very quickly and today McKenzie and I had to take them back to the airport. It seemed like they just got here and then it was time for them to leave. When we got home from the airport our house just seemed too quiet. It was such a fun time!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Auntie Amber!!! I love you and can't wait to see you on Saturday!

Terror at 3 am

Hey! We hope everyone is having an excellent week. It is going by so quickly! I wanted to tell everyone what happened to us in the middle of the night last night. McKenzie has a monitor under her mattress that monitors her heart beat and if there is no movement for 20 seconds the alarm in our bedroom will sound. Well, it has never gone off before for that reason. It has gone off when we have gotten her out of her crib and forgotten to turn it off. So, it is about 3 am and all of a sudden our monitor starts beeping like crazy! I fly out of bed, Jason right behind me. (It woke him up! That is a big deal!) We almost ran through the door trying to open it so quickly. We ran to her room which is like 3 steps from ours and swing open her door only to find her stuck width wise in her crib. She had gotten herself off of the monitoring pad in her crib and stuck in the top corner. She is just long enough that now when she moves all around in her crib if she gets width wise she can't move. Her little head was pinned on one side and her feet on the other. So, we moved her back into the middle of her crib where the monitor is and the beeping stopped. She never woke up through all of this action! Talk about scary...we got back in bed and it took us like 30 minutes to calm down and go back to sleep. We kept talking about how bad it could have been. But, thank God it was no big deal!

The Rock Star Jumps

Well, the Rock Star has returned! Little Miss McKenzie was up this morning at 3 am and again at 6 am. She ate a big bottle both times! The little girl is growing like a little weed! Today we had lunch with our friends Brooke and Brock. Miss social butterfly slept through the entire lunch! While we were out today we got McKenzie a new jumper toy. It is really fun! It has lots of things that hang off of it that she can pull on and chew. I think the part that she likes best is that she can stand in it without being held up. She really seemed to like it! She was moving the little beads around and pushing the little piano keys! The doctor said that these kinds of toys really help kids with head control also, instead of just tummy time. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We will be jumping!
It even has a tiny piano that plays music!

Loving the new Jumper!

Fetch

Last night Jason was reading McKenzie a book. In the middle of the book Baxter brought them a toy to play fetch with. Jason threw the toy and of course Baxter brought it back. So he threw it again. Each time Baxter brought back the toy McKenzie just laughed her little head off. She thought it was the funniest thing! So, needless to say, the book didn't get finished!

McKenzie's First Cereal

Tonight McKenzie got to try cereal for the first time ever! She was not sure at first. It was quite a funny experience! This was before she ever tried it!
McKenzie could not decide if she liked her first cereal or not. However, she was opening her mouth for it!

After! Notice all the cereal on her leg, in her eyebrows, and matted into her hair! It was awesome!

4 Month Check Up

Today we went to McKenzie's 4 month check up. It is hard to believe that she is that old already. She is growing like a little weed and doing very well. She talked and laughed for both the nurse and the doctor. She now weighs 14 lbs. and 12.8 oz. She is 26 1/4 inches long and her head is 43 cm around! She has her daddy's head size for sure and hopefully his brain as well! Her head has really begun to round out in the back. For those of you that don't know, her head was very flat in the back when she was born. But, it is getting so much better! She had to have four shots today and drink this other vaccine. I felt so bad for her. She screamed bloody murder as you can only imagine. Oh a much happier note, McKenzie can now begin to eat rice cereal! She will be trying it for the first time tonight when her daddy gets home from work! I'll have pictures to post for sure! Other than that our day was pretty uneventful. McKenzie is taking a nap now in her crib which is a huge deal! For those of you that know her, she is not a day time sleeper at all. I think that her shots have made her tired. She also had some Tylenol to help her little sore legs. Have a wonderful evening!

Sleeping

I just wanted everyone to know that McKenzie has begun to sleep through the night!! She sleeps from about 9:00 pm to about 8:00 am. It is amazing! I had forgotten what it feels like to sleep through the night. Our little girl is growing up.

As if to say...

I just love this picture! It is almost like she is about to just say something!

4 Months

McKenzie turned 4 months old today! We can't believe how fast time is flying by. We can't remember life without her. She now loves to sit up in her Bumbo seat and look around. She is cooing all the time and has started to squeal. We call her Wilbur because she sounds like a little pig! Then she laughs at herself afterwards! She also grabs at her toys now and is putting everything in her mouth, including her toes! She hates to wear her new pink sneakers because they cover her toes. She tries everything to get them off and once she does...socks and all into the mouth!

New Furniture

It has been an exciting and busy week this week. On Tuesday we had a new living room set delivered and today we got curtains! Curtains are a big deal to us because we have never had them before in our living room! McKenzie has been so excited about all the changes that she has not taken a nap this week. However, she has been sleeping through the night all week! Have a great weekend!

Rolling Over

McKenzie was on her mat yesterday for a little tummy time and all of a sudden she held up her little head really high and got her legs moving and just rolled right over! I was so amazed! I clapped and cheered! Then I thought it might have just been a fluke. So, I put her back on her tummy and guess what? She rolled over again! So, little Miss McKenzie is now rolling over!
