Thank You Aunt Kim

The other day in the mail, McKenzie received a hooded, ladybug sweatshirt from my Aunt Kim. It is so cute! Aunt Kim lives on the other side of the Country so we don't get to see her very much. McKenzie wanted to thank Aunt Kim for it, so below is her "thank you" video! Enjoy! Thank you Aunt Kim!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! What a wonderful day I have had! Jason did the honors of waking up McKenzie for church today! She is NOT a morning person! So, that was a big treat! We then did presents and McKenzie and Jason went shopping just for me. She picked out this precious necklace that has two interlocking hearts on it and it says Mother and Daughter...friends forever! I told Jason I will hold onto this one and wear it when she is 14! MG also picked out some wash clothes with scrubbers on them and some flip flop place mats for me. I also got the sweetest card, Minnie Mouse, that you can almost not even see for all of McKenzie's sweet writings or maybe scribbles! I had nursery at church today so Jason helped me with that so that I was not alone. (Not his favorite thing to do, but her offered to help!) After McKenzie wakes up from her nap we are heading out to eat dinner! It has been the most wonderful day and very relaxing and stress free! I even cheated and had a Code Red Mountain Dew for lunch! I never drink that stuff but I really like it so I splurged!

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mom also! Amber told me..."That all good daughters go home to see their moms on Mother's Day!" Sorry I did not come home Mom! Amber is a better daughter, she went to see her Mama! Amber is always such a joker and that is why I love her so much! She too is a wonderful mother! Our sweet Tater is so lucky! Both my Mom and Amber have so much going on! They are so busy and still make everything happen! They are two truly amazing moms! I love you both so much!

Last Wednesday, I was treated like a queen! McKenzie's class at school had a Mother's Day party. It was so sweet. The silverware was all wrapped up, there was a hug and kiss on every plate, and the cupcakes we so amazingly cute! Their teachers had them make us a book and a hand towel! It was such a nice party and I just felt so special when I left there. MG's school is so much fun. She loves it and I am so sad for her that she only has a few weeks left and it is already over. I can't believe she has almost finished her first year of school! Below are some pictures from the party!

Down on the Farm

Last week we spent a few days down on the farm in Madison! Jason was in Dallas for work last week and Mom was on Spring Break, so we went to play! Papa T was on the road driving as Kenzie says until Friday morning.

Thursday we went to the farm where Uncle Steve works and saw him driving the big tractor. McKenzie thought that was great! Mom and I took her to the barn and we say the calves. McKenzie was so different with the calves then I was when I was little. I was of course around them from the day I was born. However, not MG. Our neighborhood only allows dogs and cats! McKenzie was a bit afraid of them. It was her first time seeing a calf though so I guess that is understandable! Just funny to see how different environments produce different results.

Nana dryer MG's hair for the first time with a hair dryer! Nana loved drying MG's hair with the hair dryer and MG loved it too! When Papa T got home on Friday McKenzie had to have a ride on the lawn mower! She loves to ride on the lawn mower with Papa. They also had to sit on the porch a while!

While at the farm McKenzie was taught how to put candy in her pocket so she could eat it whenever she wanted some. It was so funny watching her try to dig it out of her pocket to eat. She would forget it was there and then all of sudden remember and she would go for that pocket. It was hilarious!

Course 2 Final Cake

Yesterday, course 2 of my cake class was over. This is my final cake. We only made one cake during course 2. The course was 4 weeks also, just like course 1. The first 3 weeks of our class we learned how to make all the flowers that are on my cake. The final class yesterday was learning how to do the basket weave frosting, rope frosting, and putting all the flowers on the cake. Every part of the cake is edible. McKenzie loves the flowers, of course, they are like pure sugar! Here is my final cake!

Supper Club Softball

Last Tuesday after we ate dinner, MG decided that she wanted to learn how to play softball. She can throw the ball pretty good. She started off with Jason helping her swing and Lobello was the pitcher.

It was not long before she thought she could do it all by herself! But, she kept missing the ball and that lead to these faces! Priceless!

Finally, McKenzie decided that the tee was okay to hit off of. She realized that she does not need to be a slugger just yet, so the tee was just fine!

Uncle Jeffrey...this one is for you

Jeffrey, Jason's brother in Africa gave McKenzie this giraffe for Christmas. She plays with it all the time. I just had to take these pictures so that Jeff could see her playing with it. It makes me laugh because the giraffe's head is taller than the stroller!

The "Big Girl" Room

About a month ago Jason and I went shopping for McKenzie's "Big Girl" furniture. When we did our nursery for her, we of course had no idea if she was a boy or girl. So we just have a gender neutral nursery. Jason and I decided that the nursery will always be the nursery. So it has been really fun looking for little girl bedding and furniture. We placed the order several weeks ago on the furniture and have just been waiting for it. The company called on Tuesday and said that it would be here this Friday. I wanted to go ahead and paint it before the furniture was brought in so Wednesday and Thursday I painted pale, pale pink. The color is actually called strawberry yogurt! I finally got all the bedding on the bed and got it finished up today. However, there are no decorations yet...so you just have to over look the bare walls. I am not sure what will go on the walls yet. Any ideas? McKenzie will not be moving into her room just yet. I just wanted to get it all ready so that when the time comes and we need the nursery again that she does not feel like she is getting kicked out of her room for someone else to take it over. She will be moved and settled into her "Big Girl" room before then! (NO-I am not pregnant!) McKenzie loves her new room though. She loves the color and will tell you "Mommy painted pink!" It is so sweet! I love it and I am looking forward to getting things on the walls!

McKenzie's 2 Year Check Up and Time Out

This morning I took MG to the see Dr. Daulphin. That is her doctor. We had to go for her 2 year check up! Everything is right on track! McKenzie is 36 inches tall (3 feet!!) (95%) and weighs 27 pounds (50%)! She is growing right up and developmentally right on target also! We are so thankful for a healthy little girl! No shots needed today either, so it was a great day with Dr. Daulphin!

Yesterday, when I picked up MG from school her teacher meet me at the door and said, "McKenzie is in a mood today. She kept breaking off the baby doll's legs." So, I apologized and we left. On our way to the car MG says, "I time out today." I asked her, "Why"? She said, "I break doll legs." She was smiling and laughing about it just like she had done something great! Poor MG was in rare form yesterday. All the partying this weekend must have finally caught up to her. Today is a much better day!

McKenzie's Ladybug Party

Saturday we celebrated McKenzie's 2nd birthday with our families and closest friends! It was a ladybug themed party and so much fun! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. It was a bout 75 degrees and sunny all day! The party started at 11 with hamburgers for lunch and then cake and presents to follow. After all that the party migrated to our neighbor's trampoline and then back to our backyard for a baseball game! McKenzie had a blast! However, she was so exhausted from the day that she is still trying to catch up on her sleep! We just can't believe that she is 2!
